75 Hard Day 1: Change happens in the storm

This morning I woke up feeling not good physically, mentally, and emotionally. I just felt like I've gotten swept up in the chaotic world I've lived in for the past month. In reality it began before a month ago.  I realized I've been caged as Glennon Doyle describes in Untamed. A cage that was partly my own making, part of growing up, and part of trying to please other people and be what I thought they wanted me to be. I've never fit in a mold but yet I always tried to make myself fit it. I've been doing things that I enjoyed but that never really called my soul. In the end it just ended up with me being burned out and sick literally and metaphorically of doing anything.

I bought the 75 Hard book by Andy Frisella, I tried it for a day and then gave up on myself....again. This morning I decided that I've fallen off the wagon so many times with my self-care that I don't want to do that anymore. I need the mental toughness. I need to find a path that is my own. I know what I don't want so now I just have to figure out what it is that I do actually want for my life.

I went for a walk the rain. It wasn't a thunderstorm but a light rain. The rain cooled my skin. The mix of wetness on my face from rain and sweat felt like it was cleansing my soul. My soul needed the walk more then my body did. I watched the changing leaves fall to the ground and change colors on the trees. Fall is my favorite season. I feel like it is my season. A season of change before the winter sets in. The rain falling on my skin reminded me of the Orisha Oya in the Yoruba Tradition. She is the Orisha of weather. She is a brave warrior. Her symbols are the machete, the water buffalo, and lightning. She is the Orisha of change. Occasionally when it storms I think of Oya. I think of how change happens when we are in the midst of a storm. It could be a physical storm or a metaphorical storm but change will happen in the midst of it. If we want it to or not. Somehow we will come out of the storm changed for better or worse. I want to come out better.

I listened to a walking meditation on Aaptiv. It was a walking meditation on Ho'oponopono. It is the Hawaiian prayer/mantra for healing and forgiveness. I've done it before and always had a magical experience with it.  Today I apologized to myself and others in my head. I forgave myself and others. I told the universe I loved the universe. I told myself I love myself. Not out loud but in my mind. Even in the mess I felt a sense of peace.

The mantra is:
I am sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I Love you.

You can say it in any order but this is the order that I prefer. You can focus on yourself, your higher power, or someone else. Or all of the above. This mantra can be used to heal and cleanse anything. You don't even have to know what needs to be healed. The Power and Importance of Silence

I read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod a few years ago. I was devoted to my practice and practiced the S.A.V.E.R.S Every morning. Somewhere along the line I got busy and tired and my self-care got put on the backburner. I've had these periods before which include sickness, depression, injury, and more. One day a few weeks ago I was scrolling my Facebook Memories and I saw a post about My Miracle Morning practice. I felt a renewed sense of joy and hope to get back to my practice. So, I created a Facebook group called The Miracle Morning Self-love challenge. It is a private group for those who want to start/restart their practice of The Miracle Morning and incorporate more self-care into their life.

I want to start with Silence even though it is not necessarily always the same order that I have my practice. For example, today I worked out first. But, a lot of mornings I will start with silence.

Silence can be many things. It can be meditation, bible reading/studying, and/or prayer. Maybe Silence means something different to you. But, I will give examples of how I practice silence. By all means share how you spend your time in Silence in the comments below. I would love to hear from you and how you practice this means of self-care.

I have a lot of self-care apps. I admit I'm a bit of a self-care app junkie.  But, you don't need any apps to get started. Start with what you already have around the house and then you can build from there. Have a bible, a prayer book, a meditation book. Use what you have. If you don't have anything there are a lot of free apps and/or ones with a minimal fee. There are also books on the subject of silence as well. I'll recommend some books I use at the end of this post.

Insight Timer: Insight timer is one of my favorite meditation apps. You used to have to pay for it but I believe now you can do most of the meditations for free and/or pay an amount to get the courses. My favorite courses right now are 21 Day Reiki realization and Practicing the Tao Te Ching.

HypnoCloud: Hypnocloud has affirmations and meditations. I currently have the free version which still gives you access to quite a bit but you can always upgrade if you want access to everything. My favorite meditation is Law of Attraction Mastery,

Flowdreaming: I've been a flow dreamer off and on for quite a few years now. It is like visualizing while you are awake. But, also in a meditative state. So, it works great for meditation and visualization. Both apart of The Miracle Morning. I believe the app is free but you do have to pay for some of the meditations/visualizations. My favorites right now are Program Today: Good morning, great Day! and Wealth and Abundance.

Youversion: YouVersion is a bible app and bible study app. They have a daily scripture study and many bible plans. Right now I am doing the Undaunted bible plan based on the book by Christine Caine.

I also have the In The Vortex App by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I did pay something for the app but it was a few years ago so I don't know how much it is now.

Some books that I'm currently using for my silence practice are:

Change me Prayers by Tosha Silver
A Course in Miracles
Prayer by Earnest Holmes
31 prayers for my future husband (even though I'm now married I just change future husband to husband.)

These are just some of the ways you can spend in silence and some ways I spend in silence. But, there are many more ways you can spend in silence as well. Feel free to post how you spend your time in silence and/or how you plan to spend your time in silence.

How I'm up-leveling my reseller business this year part 2

*This post contains affiliate links. This means that I  may receive a small commission if you decide to purchase any of the linked products or services. For more info,  please see my full disclosure policy.

In part two I will be talking about the things that you don't need when you are first starting out but things that will ultimately make a good investment into your reselling business.

1. Dress Form
A Dress form is not a necessity but it does create a nice aesthetic if you are selling clothing.

2. Clothing garment rack
A clothing garment rack is a great tool to use for storage as well as to hang your items for steaming and/or before listing them and putting the clothing item in plastic boxes for storage.

3. A thermal printer with printing paper and storage
Eventually I plan on investing in this ROLLO Thermal printer. I know not having to constantly having to buy ink will be so much better. Especially if you ship out many items. Ink can get costly.

4. Photo light Box
This is great for hard good items as well as clothing. I know I've suffered with bad lighting or not enough lighting when taking pictures. I love the ones you can set on a table instead of the tall ones.

5. Steamer
A steamer is not something you need right away in your selling journey. But, it is something you will eventually need. Especially when you want to present your clothes in the best light for pictures and shipping the item to its new home.

How I am up-leveling my reseller business this year Part 1: Things you need to start reselling

*This post contains affiliate links. This means that I  may receive a small commission if you decide to purchase any of the linked products or services. For more info,  please see my full disclosure policy.

First, I'll start with the tools I use and always keep on hand. Tools that you will need if you are planning on starting or re-starting a reseller business.

1. A Measuring tape
I prefer to use a retractable tape measure that is usually used for sewing. I love this tape measure and it has helped me tremendously over the time I've been reselling. I use one from the Singer sewing brand.

2. Storage Boxes
Eventually you will build up inventory and you will need a place to store it. This is true if you are doing just clothing, hard goods, or both. I recommend investing in tubs early on.

3. A sweater shaver
This is also a must when starting out. Especially when I was going through my clothing I noticed a lot of pilling on some items. Also, make sure if items are pilled that you list this in the description of the item.

4. A printer and ink cartridge
You will need this for printing especially if you are selling on places like Poshmark and Mercari that you print the labels directly from the site/email when you get an order. On these sites there is no other way to do it. With eBay and Etsy you can handwrite the buyers address but I feel like printing shipping labels is much less time consuming and then you already have the shipping paid for when you go to the post office.

5. Sticker paper
This is not necessary but it is a tool I don't want to be without. It is so much easier to print up inventory labels on sticker paper and to print up packing labels on sticker paper.

6. Poly bags
These are clear plastic bags that are great for storing inventory. Every time after I list my items I stick them in a bag and label them with an inventory number. Especially if you are reselling clothing this is a must for keeping track of inventory and helps to cut down on space in the bins.

7. Poly mailer bags
These are bags with designs that you can buy off amazon and eBay. I love to use these to ship my first class items. If someone buys more then one item then I will usually pack it in a box unless it can still fit in a poly mailer bag.

I went thrifting! What did I find? #3

I found these 1970's vintage Hummel plates. They are Christmas plates but I decided to go ahead and list them now. Has anyone heard of Christmas in July? I love the idea of celebrating Christmas twice a year.

I am obsessed with this Peanuts Woodstock tank top

I love the tassels on this LC Lauren Conrad top

This is a basic Torrid Tank but I adore the burgundy wine color

One of three Knox Rose pieces I picked up. I've been obsessed with Knox Rose and it has been a bread and butter brand for me lately.

I picked this tank top up because it is Harley Davidson. The graphic is worn so that was disappointing but on name alone I'm hoping to sell this. Otherwise, I will probably just keep it for myself if it doesn't sell.

My second Knox Rose Tank top. The third one already sold. I think this is a great piece for summer.

What are you currently thrifting? Do you go to garage sales in the summer?

See something you just can't live without?

I love this Mackenzie Childs bouquet for a table centerpiece especially with the pink and purple colors

I love these Anthropologie candles or if you are looking for something a little safer the flameless LED candles are pretty nifty too.

I love these purple wedged shoes

I love this clear card box I was thinking of something like this or a birdcage for cards
I ended up doing virtual invitations which I loved from Green envelope but I also love Shutterfly for physical wedding invitations

I love this dress for a bridesmaid dress. It is very similar to the one my friend and future sister in law is wearing for my wedding.

My wedding finds on Amazon

Since my wedding is coming up in June I decided to take a look at Amazon and see what was available. They have so many gorgeous things for a wedding. Here are a few of my favorite pics.

I love this Dusty rose pink tablecloth that cascades. It is perfect for a blush pink wedding.

These rustic table number holders are adorable.

I love this lace tablecloth.

These Battery operated tea lights make a great table setting

I love a canopy like this either on a trellis or hung from a tree

I got a very similar guestbook and I can't wait to use if for my wedding. It makes a great keepsake.
